Day 6 17.8.20 Charleville

Very chilly overnight. Currently at 7am it 3.5°c  but feels like 0.9 according to the BoM. Felt bone breaking cold when I went for a very short ride at 6.30.

Fog on the Maranoa river.

Moving on today. First stop was Morven for mornos.

Lots of cows and horses were being moved in the long paddock. We had to stop and give way. I never tire of seeing this.

Corrugated shhep and working dog.
Lots of art works in the town
Kerosene hut
A couple of emus were running around at the museum.
Barbed wire balls.

Cenotaph

Poppies
Lone pine tree

A tin rooster on guard at the motel.

New pub is opening in Morven at the end of the month. A transportable building.

We are staying in Charleville for a couple of nights. After setting up and having lunch we went to the cosmo centre to check out what we could book for tomorrow. Lots was full so Mark and I are doing the WW2 tour. We've done this before but we enjoyed it. There's a new planitarium since we were here last so if time permits we'll do that after the tour.

Watching a movie at the day centre.

Bbq dinner around the campfire tonight was had by all.

Today we travelled 181kms, total hitched  938kms.

Apart from the cold mornings the weather has been beautiful during the day. Loving wearing shorts and tshirts again.

Stats

Stats for my own benefit.  Lots of bakeries, cafes, pubs etc were visited as we did our bit to help support Queenslanders.  We gained 2 dog...
