Day 34. 14.09.20 Sapphire

 Woke to lots of noisy visitors this morning. 

Went for a 10km ride but left my phone home as it's been having a meltdown the past couple of days so pics are going to be a bit scarce. Rode around the wetlands which should be called the drylands at the moment. Saw 2 Brolgas, a few other birds and lots of grey kangaroos. Photos courtesy of Mark.

Went to Rubyvale to test out the Austrian strudels. Very delicious! 

So delicious I forgot to take a pic until I'd finished eating. Came with a tiny glass of port.

We decided to try our hand at Sapphire hunting. As it was hot we went to a mine and bought a bag of wash. Found a few bits of Sapphire and a couple of zircons.
